Concern about the unequal participation of women and men in the Church led CWM to launch a worldwide campaign. Although most church members are women, they are poorly represented in ordained ministry and leadership positions. And these problems are not just confined to the church, as the Community of Women and Men in Mission has often pointed out.
Churches and individuals are being asked to promote more just and equal relations between women and men in all areas of life.
The campaign to raise awareness is based on the findings of the United Nations Development Fund for Women: "When women control their livelihoods, the whole family benefits."
